Who We Are
We are a group of individuals hoping to utilize our privilege as educators, attorneys, community
organizers and artists to make Charlottesville a better place for its Latinx community members
HISTORY
Creciendo Juntos means “growing together" and began in 2005 as a community effort to support Latino
families living in Charlottesville and Albemarle. We are a leading Latino advocate and provide year
round workshops, forums, and resources for Latinos and Latino-serving organizations. We are directed
by a volunteer board and partner

We serve as an information hub for local Latinx community members and the many organizations interested in improving their services to them.

The mission of Creciendo Juntos is to provide a platform for the voices, needs and wants of the Latinx community in Charlottesville and surrounding counties through education and leadership development.
As agents of advocacy and equity, our volunteer network of individuals and organizations strive to strengthen Central Virginia by ensuring that all Latinx individuals have access to the opportunities they need to become resilient leaders in our community

Celebrating our roots and each other while learning and playing together.The goal of De Raíces a Risas is to provide a space of interactive play and learning between Latinx families while celebrating their culture and language.
The goal of 'Si Se Puede: Kaleidoscope' is to help Latinx families gain insight about the pursuit for higher education. We aim to have open and honest conversations with our families about the serious roadblocks our communities face
The goal of this program is to provide a space for Charlottesville's Latinx youth/youth of color to engage with young, talented and distinguished artists of color that are using their creativity and talent to make positive social change in their communities all over the country.
La Cultura Cura is an intergenerational social support group that centers Latina women and Latinx femmes, 15 and older in connecting, healing, and learning together
Are you interested in being an ally for the Latinx community? Or perhaps you already are? Do you work closely with the Latinx community? If you're interested in connecting with other allies and working towards solving some of the major issues related to mental health and education in our community, consider joining one of our workgroups. Our groups facilitate communication across organizations and service providers in relation to mental health and education issues within the Latinx Community. Being a part of our workgroups is a great way to get involved in some of our planning efforts and initiatives.
December 5, 2013: CJ Roundtable. Participants had the opportunity to collaborate, build awareness, and support the projects that benefit the Latino population in and around Charlottesville.
November 14, 2013: Transformation of Southwood: A Progress Report presented by Dan Rosensweig, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville.
2013: Housing Counseling: Financial Literacy, Rental and Home Ownership Counseling presented by Jo Olson, Certified Comprehensive Housing Counselor, PHA, Sarah Brazelton, Certified Comprehensive Housing Counselor, PHA, and Shelly Cole, Family Services Manager, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville.
