Why We Serve
I continue working at Eben Ezer because I love taking care of my neighbors, putting a smile on their face, listening to the stories they have to tell. Some of the neighbors you get really close to, as if they were a grandparent.
I love my nighttime team players; they are all awesome!
I love the interaction with the neighbors, especially the neighbors who live in our Memory Care area. I love when I make them smile and they make me smile all the time!!
I love working at Eben Ezer because to me this isn't a "job", it's being able to do things that affect many individuals. It's a home, where we make many memories with the family that work and live here! To work here is to grow here!!
I choose to work at Eben Ezer because of the principle of what we do. We provide care for some of the weakest and most vulnerable people. If they come to us ill, we restore their health to the best it can be. We place value on the elderly and try to maintain their dignity.
As the Director of Human Resources, I have really enjoyed building relationships with the team of people who work here and giving them the most information that I can so that they can make informed decisions and know what to expect in a process.
We have a lot of fun here and I am all about the fun. One thing that has surprised me is that even though I am not a direct caregiver to the Neighbors, I have still managed to create bonds with them. I enjoy chatting with them, walking with them to an event, and hearing about their lives. I have developed meaningful friendships, and this is so important to me being fulfilled in my daily and work life.
